Lamaze Childbirth Education Courses
Giving birth is a not-to-be-missed experience. Savour your pregnancy, look forward to meeting your baby and trust that your body will do exactly what it was designed so well to do. Like countless generations of women before you, you can give birth with confidence, joy and deep satisfaction.
What our clients are saying about our courses:
“I managed to get through with no tearing, no pain relief, and no stress. I never felt like the delivery was more than I could handle. It was at times painful, but not the type of pain that I found stressful or distressing. The midwives were all blown away and told me I was just amazing at giving birth and that most first timers don’t do it so calmly or without any request for pain relief. I’m telling you this not to brag, but because I wanted to let you know that a lot of the reason I found it so easy and was so calm and relaxed was because of the information and resources that you provided as part of your Lamaze course.
Our little man is the most calm, relaxed, peaceful, wonderful baby, I really hope that all the work I did to get him peacefully into the world has helped make him so chilled out.
Thank you again for all the wonderful information, I will definitely recommend your course to any friends in Melbourne who are to become first time mummas.” – Ashley, 29, Preston West
“Prior to your class, my questions were focused on “how do I manage my anxieties when I need to have an induction or an epidural”. After your class my anxieties have been virtually eliminated because I feel incredibly empowered and prepared for what labour brings. The revelation that the pain of labour is not something to fear, that it is not suffering has given me total confidence that I can labour naturally without the need for unnecessary interventions – the more I reflect the more I understand that my labour is not a medical procedure and I have no need to fear it like I did my operation. What a breakthrough!” ~ Brooke, 29, Elwood
“We absolutely loved birthwell birthright — it was great to get evidence-based and non-biased information on both natural birth and modern medical options. We’re now feeling really empowered and excited about the birth, instead of feeling nervous. Looking forward to putting your valuable education into practice!” ~ Isobel & Matthew, Brunswick West

I’ve learned a great deal about pregnancy and childbirth both from personal experience and from my training to become a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator (LCCE) through the Douglas College Perinatal Program in Vancouver, Canada. I trained with renowned childbirth educator Rachelle Oseran BA, FACCE, LCCE, CD(DONA).
Lamaze International is widely acknowledged to be the gold standard in antenatal education and promotes natural, safe and healthy pregnancy, childbirth and beyond.
In addition to my teaching, I regularly contribute to a number of online and printed publications including; The Journal of Perinatal Education, Empowering Birth Magazine, Mum’s Lounge, Go Ask Mum, Whole Woman, and Interaction – the journal of the Childbirth and Parenting Educators Association of Australia (CAPEA).
In 2012 and 2014, I was fortunate enough to be the recipient of a travel grant to attend the annual Lamaze International Conference, which is held in a different U.S. state each year (Nashville, Tennessee in 2012, and Kansas City, Missouri in 2014).
Also in 2014, I was one of 11 educators from around the world invited to Washington, D.C. to become part of Lamaze International’s first cohort of independent trainers. In 2015, I will begin training the first generation of Australian Lamaze childbirth educators.
In my spare time, I also volunteer with Birth for HumanKIND as a doula, providing free birth support for women in need including young mums, refugees and asylum seekers.
I am also the mum to two beautiful children, my son Liev and my daughter Amalia.
The Benefits of Lamaze During Childbirth
You can’t truly prepare for the unpredictability of labour and birth, but a great way to learn about your options is to take a Lamaze class. As a certified Lamaze educator, I want to help you understand what Lamaze is all about – it may not be what you think.
It’s not just about breathing.
I receive many calls from expectant mums who want me to teach them “Lamaze breathing.” I quickly explain that today’s classes don’t teach mum how to “hee hee hoo” labour away. Breathing definitely has benefits for mother and baby during labour, but Lamaze is no longer a “method,” it’s an approach to pregnancy, labour and birth that is based on the most up-to-date evidence that will inspire, educate and empower you to make the best possible choices for you and your baby.
Book your Lamaze course today!
I look forward to hearing from you and being a part of your amazing journey to parenthood!
